It was a beautiful weekend! I hope you all were able to enjoy some of the pretty sunshine. We were able to fit in a picnic at the park and some baseball practice.

Reading:
- books: 100th Day Worries, 100th Day of School, Sneezy the Snowman, The Hat
- Long A and E chart
- Sort Characters that are in “The Hat”, students will use the retelling the sticks to retell the story.
- Characters in the Hat- alphabet sort
- Rhyming Words in the Hat
- Poems: Friends, Happy Birthday, 100 days
- Find sight words, letters, words, & sentences in poems, locate _ay/-ow, come up with other words that have -ay and -ow
Math:
- our class will predict where we will end up if we take 100 steps, we will take 100 steps and see where we end up
- Play the 100 Hershey Kisses Scavenger Hunt Game, students will find numbered hershey kisses and place them on the corresponding number on our 100s chart.

- solve word problems using objects and drawings to find sums up to 10 and modeling the action of joining to represent addition, explain the strategies used to solve problems involving adding within 10 using spoken words, concrete and pictorial models, and number sentences
- Number Talk: Quick Images, I will flash this quick image for 5 seconds then students to build a copy of what they saw using inch grid paper and manipulative inch tiles

We had such a great week! Our class loved making our class snowman in interactive writing and writing sentences to add to it. We are making great strides in writing! We are all using so many sight words in our writing. We are also beginning to add more detail to our stories. I am so proud of all of my kinders!! They are also doing a great job using their math strategies to solve story problems. They are gaining such strong understanding of numbers when they can explain their thinking in math!

- Number Talk: Quick Images, I will flash this quick image for 5 seconds then students to build a copy of what they saw using inch grid paper and manipulative inch tiles
- Students will use inch manipulative tiles to create their own quick images. Once, they have created them they will use inch construction paper squares to glue them onto the inch grid paper and add a number sentence.
- Problem Solving – Read the book, If You Were a Plus Sign then model drawing a picture to tell a math story problem on chart paper. At the bottom of the paper write the addition number sentence. Students will then create their own picture story problem.
- Number Talk: complete chart Ways to make 10 using red/yellow magnetic counters (have students use their own magnetic ten frames to come up with the addition problems)
